Emily has been dancing and training for the better part of her life. She began her dance traininG at the age of five and immediatly fell in love with the art. 

    At the age of 15 she enrolled in a local ballet conservatory to work towards her goals of becoming a professional. AFter only a few months at the conservatory she was invited to become an apprentice to Ballet Tennessee. in 2011 Emily decided to leave Ballet Tennessee and attend Scenic City Dance under the artistic direction of Stacey Perkinson Caheely. She stayed with SCD through the rest of her highschool training. 

    Emily is a recent graduate of

East Carolina University  where she received her Bachelors degree in dance performance. While at ECU she has had the opportunity to perform in many faculty and student works. Including trips to perform in New York, American college dance association, and various theatres across North Carolina. upon entering her junior year Emily began focusing on her own choreography. Throughout the rest of her time at ECU she has choreographed for many shows. emily's work what happens behind us (ii) was chosen to be performed alongside

faculty works in February of 2016.

whILE AT ECU EMILY HAS ALSO HAD THE OPPORTUNITY TO STUDY THEATRICAL DESIGN TECHNIQUES AND HAS WORKED AS A LIGHTING DESIGNER, ASSISTANT TECHNICAL DIRECTOR AND SHOP FOREMAN ALONG WITH SEVERAL OTHER crew JOBS. EMILY HAS JUST RECENTLY BEEN SELECTED TO TAKE HER SENIOR PIECE, pROVIDENCE, TO THE AMERICAN COLLEGE ASSOCIATION CONFERENCE IN SPRING OF 2017.
